Timothy Matthew Collins President
Timothy Matthew Collins (b. 1981) is a collage artist, residential designer, and architecture professor at the City College of New York. Drawing inspiration from his Catholic faith as well as readings in philosophy and theology—especially the works of Giorgio Agamben, Walter Benjamin, Léon Bloy, and G. K. Chesterton—his art explores Christian Eschatology through mixed media architectural models that incorporate found objects. www.timothymatthewcollins.com
Cole Matson, Ph.D. Vice-President & Executive Director
Laura Pittenger is a NYC-based playwright and director, specializing in dark comedies which challenge the body, heart and soul. Her work has been seen at FringeNYC, Project Y, The Playwrights' Center, The Tank, Brooklyn College's GI60 Festival, Spark & Echo Arts, The Sheen Center, Alaska's Last Frontier Theater Conference, Turn to Flesh Productions, Ball State University and more. Laura currently serves on the advisory board of Turn to Flesh Productions and is a member of the Dramatists Guild. Alexi Sargeant Board Member
Alexi Sargeant is a writer, theatre maker, and game creator who lives and works in New York City. He writes about God, superheroes, Shakespeare, and other topics at the intersection of religion and popular culture at venues like First Things, The New Atlantis, The Weekly Standard, and Catholic Arts Today. Alexi graduated from Yale 2015 with a B.A. in English and Theater Studies and then served as a junior fellow and assistant editor at First Things. He currently writes freelance. He is married to the lovely Leah Libresco (they enjoy hosting play-readings in their home) and serves on the advisory board of Turn to Flesh Productions. www.alexisargeant.com
Deniz Demirer Board Member
Deniz Demirer is a filmmaker—a writer, director, cinematographer, and actor. He has written and directed five feature films to date and over a dozen short films. His first feature Nocturnal Jake (2009) was chosen by acclaimed film director Rob Nilsson (Heat & Sunlight, Northern Lights) as one of the top 5 films shot in San Francisco. Deniz Demirer's work as actor, cinematographer, editor, and director has been exhibited in international film festivals on a regular basis. Deniz lives in New York City. www.demirerfilm.com
Renée Darline Roden Newsletter Editor
Renée Darline Roden is a Twin Cities native and a New York-based writer and playwright. She graduated in May with a Master of Theological Studies from the University of Notre Dame and currently works as the editor for Notre Dame Alumni Association’s spirituality outreach, FaithND. As a performer: she has appeared with the Tony Award Winning Minneapolis Children’s Theatre Company (The Magic Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, Bert and Ernie, Goodnight!), The Playwright’s Center (Planting Shelley Anne), Upright Egg Theatre Company (A Midsummer Night's Dream) and the egg theatre at Theatre Royal Bath, UK (How I Became a Pirate). As a writer: her work has been produced at the University of Notre Dame, and with Open Booth Theatre Company (SHE), and seen at The Bushwick Starr (Genna the Goldfish Solves it All). Renée penned her first play at age 10: it was a single page; had no dialogue (very cutting edge); and was written on a 1985 IBM Actionwriter 1 Typewriter. Her writing has appeared in America, Dappled Things,Howlround, and Church Life Journal. When not doing any of that, Renée eats, runs, tweets, travels, eats while traveling, and tweets about eating.
Tony Lipari Social Media Manager
Tony Lipari is a raconteur, lyricist, rapper, rock vocalist, and hip hop beat composer. He has recorded two albums and is currently working on a concept EP. His entire life he has held fast to the belief that he is deathly allergic to Brussels sprouts and even if he isn’t, it’s worked out pretty well for him so far. Emily C.A. Snyder Co-Founder/Founding Board Member
Emily C. A Snyder is an internationally produced and published playwright and novelist, whose work has been seen from Dublin, Ireland to Christchurch, New Zealand. She is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of TURN TO FLESH PRODUCTIONS, which develops new plays in heightened text with vibrant roles for women on-stage and off. In her 20+ years in theatre, she has directed the major works of Shakespeare's canon and performed in the rest, including playing Rosalind from As You Like It in his hometown of Stratford-upon-Avon, England.
