What is the Catholic Artist Connection newsletter?
The Catholic Artist Connection newsletter shares opportunities and events of interest to Catholic artists. It comes out via email every Tuesday at 12:00 PM EST.
Since most of the Catholic Artists NYC leadership and about 50% of the newsletter's readers are located in the greater New York City area, many of the notices relate to that geographic region; however, we also share notices from throughout the United States (40% of our readership) and elsewhere in the world (10% of our readership). We've shared notices from Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington State, and Wisconsin, as well as Argentina, Canada, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, the United Kingdom, and the Vatican. And we'd love to share your notices, too!
How do I sign up?
Just click here! You can easily unsubscribe at any time (but before you do, feel free to let us know if there's a way we can improve the newsletter!). We never sell or share your information.
How do I submit a notice?
Simply email your notice to email@example.com by 12:00 PM EST on the Saturday before the Tuesday on which you want your notice to start running. Notices run for three consecutive issues, unless the opportunity/event ends earlier. Notices also start running in the next available issue, unless you specify a particular date on which you want the notice to begin running.
Do I have to be Catholic to receive or submit notices to the newsletter?
Nope! Everyone is welcome to receive the newsletter. We share all notices which we believe are appropriate and would be useful to Catholic artists, regardless of whether or not the event or sponsoring organization is specifically Catholic. (For example, we have shared notices from other Christian and interfaith organizations, as well as calls for proposals for secular journals/conferences which welcome all academic voices. If Catholics are welcome to participate, the notice is fair game for inclusion.)
Therefore, we do not vet notices for adherence to Catholic doctrine, nor make any claims as to the orthodoxy of the sponsors of a particular event or opportunity. If you have a concern about a notice you see in the newsletter, please contact us to share your thoughts.
How much does it cost to receive or submit a notice to the newsletter?
It is completely free to receive and submit notices to the newsletter!
If you would like your event, organization, or individual artist portfolio to be featured at the top of the newsletter, you may sponsor an issue for $30. This amount covers the costs of editing and publishing each week's newsletter. Your ad will run at the top of the newsletter, going out to almost 700 artists and supporters across the world, and you will be thanked as the sponsor of that week's issue. You may also sponsor the newsletter for a whole month, or become a featured sponsor on our Communities page of the website, for only $100.
To sponsor one or more issues or to become a featured sponsor on the website, simply donate $30 or more on PayPal, and include a note stating how many issues you would like to sponsor ($30/issue or $100/month) or whether you would like to become a featured website sponsor. We will be in touch to set up your ad. (Please note that only the amount donated above the cost of an ad is tax-deductible as a charitable donation. We will send you a tax acknowledgement if any of your donation is deductible.)
